CM writes to Centre on Malaysian flights

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 10. The Chief Minister, Mr. E. K. Nayanar, has urged the Centre to grant permission to the Malaysian Airlines to operate direct flights to Thiruvananthapuram from Malaysia to tap the tourism potential of Kerala.

In a letter to the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Mr. Sharad Yadav, the Chief Minister pointed out that the Airlines had evinced interest to operate such a flight, and had already approached the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation in this regard.

He noted that a delegation led by the Malaysian Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Abdul Sheik Fadzir, was touring India to explore the scope for tourism development. Mr. Fadzir had expressed interest in tapping the potential of Kerala when the Malaysian Minister called on him on Thursday, Mr. Nayanar said.
