Development projects to be taken up

CHENNAI, NOV. 10. Various development projects to the tune of Rs. 30 lakhs would be taken up during the current Round Table India Week celebrations.

Briefing mediapersons about the projects for the current year, Mr. B. B. Venghatesh, chairman of the Round Table India - Area 2, said the projects included construction of an AIDS Centre in association with YRG Care Centre, adoption of a school in Tambaram and providing them a permanent roof, safe drinking water and vocational training to the students, assisting construction of classrooms and providing civic amenities at Amrapalli primary school, among others.

One of the ambitious programmes of the club was `Freedom through education' under which it was proposed to educate nearly a million children in the country. The project was launched two years ago with financial help from Round Table of Netherlands, he said.
