Advertising convention

CHENNAI, DEC. 16. ``Future Shock'' with the theme of ``Reinventing Advertising for the ICE Age'', and is being held here on January 19 and 20 next.

Future shock, an international convention, made its debut in 1998 and was based on the theme `Competing for the Future'. The convention drew eminent speakers from all over the world, including Dr. C. K. Prahalad, Mr. John Philip Jones (Syracuse University, USA), Mr. Bob Mclaren (Worldwide Creative Director, Ammirati Puris Lintas), Mr. Eric Salama (Group Director of Strategy, WPP) and Mr. Chris Jaques (Chairman, BBDO Asia Pacific, Hong Kong).

Some of the national and international speakers who are to take part this time are Messrs. N. R. Narayanamurthy of Infosys, Prof. Venkatarangan of the University of California, Shiela Byfield of Mindshare, Andy Law of St. Lukes, Neil F. Budde of Wall Street Journal, Chrostopher Todd of Jupiter Media Matrix, and Rama Bijapurkar of Research Consultant. The Advertising Club Madras is expecting confirmation of speakers from global organisations like Sony, Nokia, Toyota, WPP, BBDO among others. Nearly 400 delegates are expected to attend this convention. Mr. N. Murali, Joint Managing Director, The Hindu, is the Chairman and Mr. S. R. Ayer, Chairman of MICA, is the Co-chairman of the convention.
