Journalists call for Abhishek Bachchan's arrest
NEW DELHI, APRIL 16. The Delhi Journalists' Association (DJA) has
demanded the immediate arrest of actor, Mr. Abhishek Bachchan,
and two others for allegedly manhandling two city-based photo
journalists during a film shooting here.
In a statement here today, the DJA general secretary, Mr. Ras
Bihari, said Mr. Bachchan, the executive producer, Mr. Tanya, and
cameraman, Mr. Sameer Arya, allegedly abused and manhandled
Indian Express photographer, Mr. Mustafa Qureshi, and freelance
lensman, Mr. Umesh Puri, during the shooting of Bas itna sa khwab
hai on Sunday and damaged their cameras.
The immediate provocation for the attack was that Mr. Qureshi
took some shots of Mr. Tanya allegedly beating some onlookers
during the shooting.
