Serial blast accused dies of illness
MUMBAI, APRIL 16. Hamid Dafedar, a serial blast accused
undergoing psychiatric treatment since 1997 after getting bail,
died of illness on Monday at his native place in Raigad district,
his lawyers
Mr. Subhash Kanse, and Mr. Farhana shah informed a designated
Tada Court today.
The trial in serial blast case began in 1995 and he was granted
bail by the Court two years later. He was undergoing psychiatric
treatment in the Government-owned J.J hospital here. While the
court framed charge against other accused before the trial,
Dafedar was left out as a special case because of his ailing
condition. At the fag end of the trial last year end, the court
framed charge against him.In another development, Eteshaam, Co-
accused, who was also on bail, was arrested on April 14 in a
murder case. He has been charged with conspiracy to murder an
estate agent in Pydhonie area of South Mumbai, police said.
