DMK functionary held

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, MAY 29. Two persons, including a local DMK functionary, Mr. Gnanasekaran, were arrested on Monday for their alleged involvement in a case of impersonation for a job, at Villivakkam last year.

Police said Mr. Gnanasekaran assured Ms. Vasantha of JJ Nagar the post of organiser of a noon-meal centre for monetary consideration. But he could obtain only a noon-meal assistant post, which she rejected.

When she demanded the money back, Mr. Gnanasekaran replaced her name with another woman's in the appointment order.

The Panchayat Commissioner unearthed the fraud last year and registered a case against him in the JJ Nagar police station. Mr. Gnanasekaran and Ms. Baghyalakshmi were arrested.
