HYDERABAD, FEB. 24. Upcoming Telugu film actress, Pratyusha, died here on Sunday after consuming poison while her boy friend, Siddharth Reddy, is battling for life at a private hospital. The duo took the extreme step after Reddy's parents opposed their marriage. The 20-year-old actress who had acted in several Tamil and Telugu films hails from the City and was pursuing a hotel management course from J.B. Institute of Hotel Management while Reddy was a final year engineering student of Vasavi Engineering College. The duo consumed poison in their car and were admitted to a corporate hospital in Banjara Hills last night. Pratyusha died on Sunday morning. Her last movie, "Kalusukovalani..." was released a couple of weeks back while some Tamil and Telugu films besides a Kannada venture were under production. Pratyusha who was spotted in "Star 2000 contest" on Gemini television two years back had acted in movies like "Rayudu" and "Samudram" before noted Tamil filmmaker, Bharatiraja, introduced her in Tamil films. She acted in several Tamil movies before her return to Telugu films with the Nagarjuna starrer, "Snehamante Idhera." Her mother, Sarojini Devi, is a teacher in Bhongir. Pratyusha's schooling was in St. Ann's High School, Tarnaka, and she completed her Intermediate from Gautami College, S.R. Nagar. Punjagutta police are investigating the case.
