Magnasoft gets new promoters

BANGALORE, MARCH 14. Abhishek Mukherjee, former MD, Compaq Computer India Pvt. Ltd. and S. Sridhar, former MD Autodesk India Private Limited have come together as the new promoters and to lead the management team at the Bangalore-based Magnasoft Consulting.

Based out of Bangalore, Abhishek Mukherjee will be the Chairman & CEO and Mr. Sridhar, the Vice Chairman and MD of the company.

Promoted in March 2000 by Harmit Kalra, Magnasoft has a technology centre

in Bangalore and client servicing offices in the U.S and Europe. Magnasoft has been funded by Global Technology Ventures, a joint venture between Sivan Securities, The Bank of America and Nomura Securities.

Magnasoft focusses on developing GIS/GPS applications, to make location based information available at any place and over any device. There exists a very large global opportunity (over $20 billion) for these services, in a wide variety of industries such as telecom, power, logistics, transportation, Government to name a few. Magnasoft will be developing applications on leading software platforms from Autodesk, ESRI, MapInfo and leaders in device technologies to deliver these applications.
