French honour for Dileep Padgaonkar

New Delhi April 29 . In a presidential decree, France has bestowed its highest honour, Legion d'Honneur, on Dileep Padgaonkar, The Times of India's Executive Managing Editor for his ``great qualities as a journalist.''

The Ambassador of France in India, Bernard de Montferrand, in a letter of congratulations to the editor, said Mr. Padgaonkar had been named Chevalier dans l'ordre national de la Legion d'Honneur, Knight in the national order of the Legion of Honour.
