Balamohanan and a host of others held talks with Rangasamy in the cabinet room. Earlier a few of the watch and ward staff of the Assembly secretariat found it difficult to manage a group of agitators forcing their entry into the Assembly premises. With a few of the association representatives alone were permitted to hold talks with the chief Minister there was a commotion for sometime. The drivers wanted among other things implementation of the directive of the Centre for promotion of the drivers, the extension of the promotion scheme to benefit the drivers in municipal sector, risk allowance and proper transfer policy. The drivers had observed fast for a few days and some of the fasting members were also hospitalised with their health deteriorating.
