Prof. C.K.Ramesh passes away

BANGALORE AUG. 12. C.K.Ramesh (77), retired professor of Structural Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and a scholar in Sanskrit, passed away here today. He was the father of Jairam Ramesh, Secretary of the AICC and economist. Prof. Ramesh, who had been educated at the BMS College of Engineering here and the University of Leeds, U.K., had also taught at the Roorkee Engineering College (now an IIT) and the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani. The Chief Minister, S.M.Krishna, has condoled the passing away of Prof. Ramesh and said that he was a scholar in Sanskrit and an exponent of Vedanta philosophy who had influenced many individuals.
