Minister's `planespeak'

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Sept. 2. What should an airhostess do when a passenger stares at her? Well she should not get angry...at least this is what the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, feels.

He said that an air passenger while flying is "in captivity'' and could do only two things. Well, without good reading material as only magazines like "Swagat'' containing pictures of Mr.Rudy or the Managing Director are found, the next best thing would be to "look'' at the airhostess. "If he looks at you, why do you get disappointed and angry,'' asked the Minister drawing laughter from the airhostesses and others in the gathering.

In a candid and hard-hitting address to the representatives of the civil aviation industry at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport here, he called upon all those associated with aviation from CISF security personnel on the ground to those flying the aircraft to look after the comfort of the passengers first.
