Article 356

Sir, — This refers to "Consensus on retaining Article 356 with safeguards" (Aug. 29). It is true that the Article has been misused often. But then which law of the land has not been misused by politicians for self-aggrandisement? And what is the guarantee that the amended Article will not be misused?
