TIRUPATI. Sept. 2. The BJP national president, M.Venkaiah Naidu, on Tuesday said that the party would soon come out with a `fact sheet' on the development initiatives taken by the Vajpayee Government and announced that `development' would be the poll plank of the NDA Government during the ensuing elections. Addressing a media conference here at the end of his two-day official-cum-spiritual visit to the temple town, the BJP president threw a challenge to the opposition to come for a national debate on the development issue and said the party would fight the coming elections on the success of its positive, innovative and constructive approach which he claimed resulted in an all-round development of the country. The BJP chief accused the Opposition, especially the Congress of being highly `irresponsible and immature' as to adopt an obstructionist stance towards all that the Government did forgetting that it was the long years of Congress `misrule' that was responsible for all the ills plaguing the country. He accused the AICC president of indulging in `mere rhetoric' not knowing that it would only boomerang on the party and wondered who her `advisers' were. If it is the CPI(M), her fate was doomed because it had nothing at stake, he said and recalled how the Indira Gandhi Government in the post-emergency era `tampered with judiciary' and withdrew cases against the several accused. On the Ayodhya tangle, Mr. Naidu urged Muslims to shed their past differences and give up their claim over the disputed structure in the context of the ASI report which reportedly confirmed the existence of a `grand temple' underneath as supported by historical evidences. On the killing of Gazi Baba, the BJP chief described it as a remarkable success in our security forces' operations in contrast to the situation in the US where it was still not able to track down those wanted for the WTO assault. On the fall of the Mayavati Government, the BJP president attributed it to her own `unilateral decision' which she must now be repenting.
