Kambli back in Mumbai squad

MUMBAI Sept. 2 . Vinod Kambli returns to the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad for the Irani

Trophy tie against Rest of India at Chennai. He is expected to add substance to the Ranji champion side's batting order for the Sept. 18-22 tie.

He is the only change from the Mumbai team, which defeated Tamil Nadu in the title-clash. He also figures in the list of 36 Ranji probables.

According to the Mumbai squad announced by Mumbai Cricket Association on Tuesday, Kambli comes in place of Amol Muzumdar in the middle order.

Sachin Tendulkar will lead the side, with Sairaj Bahutule as his deputy. Mumbai's Irani Trophy side, chosen by the senior selection committee and announced by joint honorary secretary Lalchand Rajput, is formidable.

The team: Sachin Tendulkar (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Vinayak Mane, Nishit Shetty, Vinod Kambli, Bhavin Thakkar, Sairaj Bahutule (vc), Vinayak Samant (wicket-keeper), Ramesh Powar, Nilesh Kulkarni, Ajit Agarkar, Avishkar Salvi, Swapnil Hazare, Robin Morris and Vinit Indulkar. Standbyes: Rajesh Varma, Sahil Kukreja, Abhijit Shetye, Abhishek Nair. Coach: Chandrakant Pandit. Trainer: Amogh Pandit, Physiotherapist: Dr Vipul Chavda.
