KOCHI. SEPT. 3. The LDF Independent candidate, Sebastian Paul, and the former Union Minister, S. Krishnakumar, on Wednesday filed nomination papers for the September 23 Lok Sabha by-election in Ernakulam. Accompanied by LDF's senior district and State leaders, Dr. Paul submitted his papers to the returning officer and Ernakulam District Collector, Gyanesh Kumar, at the Collectorate this morning. Dr. Paul was taken in a procession of LDF cadres to the Collectorate. Mr. Krishnakumar, who filed his nomination papers today, told media persons that he had resigned from the Congress as the party had ceased to give due recognition to professionals like him. Asked whether his wife and the Mahila Congress leader, Usha Krishnakumar, would also resign from the party, he said that a decision would be taken only after meeting the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi.
