Speaking to presspersons here today, he said that any anomalies and discrepancies in the allotment of seats, or mistakes in the marks list would be attended to till October 18. Classes would commence after that.
Elaborating on the casual round, the Minister said that candidates who had already been admitted in colleges would not be considered. Only those who were waiting for allotment of seats would be called for the casual rounds, he added.
Dr. Parameshwar said that 1,903 medical seats, 1,289 dental, and 1,078 seats in the Indian Systems of Medicine had been allotted. Of the 28,613 engineering seats available, ranks had been accorded for 19,700 till September 4.
The Minister said the department had decided to confer `Adarsha' awards on teachers, physical education teachers, librarians, and administrative staff in government and aided institutions. The Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, would present the awards at a function here on Friday.
The names of the awardees are G.N. Nagamani Srinath, M.R. Narasimha Prasad, B. Radhamma, Srikanth T. Vanakuduri, A.N. Prabhu, Kapanaiah, Narayana M. Nayaka, B.C. Gulasetty, M.D. Subha Chandran, B.G. Satya Prasad, Shyamsundar Bidarakundi, K. Gita Kumari, B.R. Gadagina, V.P. Bhavi, and A. Gopala Ganiga.
