The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms. are: Vandavasi (Thiruvannamalai dt.) 6, Agumbe 5, Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Londa 4 each, Chennai, Thanjavur, Namakkal, Thiruchirapalli Airport, Jagalbet (Uttara Kannada dt.) and Ammathy (Kodagu dt.) 3 each, Thirukattupalli and Vallam (both Thanjavur dt.), Paramakudi (Ramanadhapuram dt.), Valparai, Gudalore Bazzar (Nilgiris dt.), Thirumangalam (Madurai dt.), Thirupuvanam (Sivagangai dt.), and Poondi (both Thiruvallur dt.), Honavar, Sringeri (Chikmagalore dt.) and Bhagamandala (Kodagu dt.) 2 each, Chennai Airport, Kanchipuram, Gingee (Villupuram dt.), Mayiladuthurai (Nagapatnam dt.), Thiruchirapalli, Madurai Airport, Mani (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Panambur, Gadag, Koppa and Kalasa (both Chikmagalore dt.), Kannur, Thrissur, Prakasam Barrage (Krishna dt.), and Yemmiganur (Kurnool dt.) 1 each.
