Vishnuvardhan stars in HCA's win

HYDERABAD SEPT. 4. A fine spell of medium pace bowling by S. Vishnuvardhan who snapped up five wickets for 15 runs from his allotted ten overs helped Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) defeat Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) by seven wickets in the Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament being sponsored by India Cements here today.

CAB won the toss and decided to bat first. But soon its batsmen were in trouble against the controlled seam bowling by Vishnu who kept a tight line and length. Only skipper L.R. Shukla was able to come up with some resistance scoring 38 with two sixes. The rest of the batsmen failed to come up with any sizeable knocks. CAB was all out for a paltry 95 in 45.3 overs. Shivaji Yadav gave Vishnu good support as he took two for 18 for HCA.

In reply, HCA rattled off the required runs in only 27.4 overs. M. Srinivas scored a hard hitting 35 with the help of four boundaries and one six.
