According to information received here, Vikrant Chopra, who had a memorable first day in which he returned with a level par score of 71, had a forgettable third round, carding a poor 10-over 81. Though his performance was not counted, the other members of the team managed to offset the loss with some decent performance to ensure that India's position did not slip further in the Championship, in which 15 countries are participating. Keshav Mishra produced the day's best card with four-over 75, while Shiv Kapur and Simarajit Singh carded an identical five-over 76 each. All the four members of the Indian team carded an identical six-over 77 on Wednesday. India has a three-round aggregate of 675. Meanwhile, host Australia jumped into the lead, pushing its archrival New Zealand, which was leading the pack in the first two rounds, to the fourth place. Australia, with a three-round gross of 643, has established a ten-stroke lead over Japan and Korea, who were placed joint second with 653, followed by the Kiwis at 654. Philippines (659), Pakistan and Thailand (668 each) and Malaysia (671) were ahead of India, which was followed by Singapore and Chinese Taipei (681 each), Hong Kong (708), Guam (718), Nepal (769) and United Arab Emirates (771).
