Mahmud, Rafique baffle Pakistan

MULTAN sept. 4. Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud (four for 37) and spinner Mohammad Rafique (five for 36) mesmerised the Pakistan batsmen on Thursday enabling their team take a first innings lead on the second day of their third and final cricket Test.

Pakistan, which fell 106 runs short of Bangladesh's first innings of 281, fought back when handed the ball again, claiming the vital wickets of Habibul Bashar and Javed Omar before close of play as the visitor finished the day at 77 for four.

Bangladesh's Alok Kapali had to leave the field two overs before stumps when he was struck close to his right eye by a Shabbir Ahmad short delivery.
