Monsoon active over Kerala

CHENNAI SEPT. 7. Southwest monsoon has been active over Kerala.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and coastal Karnataka, at many places over Lakshadweep and at a few places over Telangana and interior Karnataka. .

Honavar recorded heavy rainfall of 9 cms.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Kozhikode, Kozhikode Air Port and Kochi (CIAL) 5 each, Sullurpet (Nellore dt.) and Mudibidre (Udipi dt.) 4 each, Thrissur and Udipi 3 each.

FORECAST (Valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over interior Karnataka, North coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, South coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
