Tata Tea to expand

KOLKATA SEPT. 8. Tata Tea (TTL) today said it was aiming to capture about 4-5 per cent of total market in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia and Middle-East over next two years through its U.K.-based subsidiary Tetley Tea. It was also aiming to increase its domestic market share from about 19.60 per cent at present to 22-23 per cent in the next two years.

"Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia and Middle-East is a big volume market. We would like to have 4 to 5 per cent share of these markets over the next two years," TTL's Vice-Chairman, R. K. Krishna Kumar, told reporters here. "After recent restructuring in the U.S. and Australia, we are now looking for growth and might also go for acquisition," he said. — PTI
