Racing : Horse
It is to do with its famed Sha Tin racecourse but has nothing to do with either the track or the horses. A few days ago, a 70.4m long by 8m high screen was installed at Sha Tin and Guinness has now given its official nod for this monumental Diamond Television Screen as the world's largest. The Screen is as wide as a Boeing 747 is long and it is as huge as 4,500 TV sets measuring 21'' piled up! The screen, built by Japan's Mitsubishi Electronic Corporation, has high resolution, puts out clear images and can be split into six sections. Mr. David Hawksett, representative of the Guinness World Records recently handed over the certificate to Mr. Ronald Arculli, Chairman of HKJC and Mr. Lawrence Wong, CEO in the presence of Mr. Tomatsu Nomakuchi, President and CEO of the Mitsubishi Electronic Corporation.
