Plea for rupee invoicing

TIRUPUR: The Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) has appealed to the Central Government to initiate measures to stem the dollar-rupee disparity and to arrest the downward trend. In a memorandum to the Finance Minister, the president of the TEA, A. Sakthivel, pointed out that there had been an erosion of the dollar and euro against the rupee resulting in negative growth of exports in the last three months. He said exporters apprehended a huge loss which would have a cascading effect on the entire export trade. Hence, he pleaded for rupee invoicing as an option — Our Special Correspondent
