Cos. to be permitted for concurrent listing

NEW DELHI SEPT. 9. The Union Government has taken a decision in principle to permit companies for concurrent listing and the modalities in this connection are expected to be announced soon, according to U. K. Sinha, Joint Secretary (Capital and Pensions), Department of Company Affairs in the Ministry of Finance. Addressing a seminar on `London Global Capital Markets: Seizing the Opportunities' under the aegis the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Assocham), Mr. Sinha said the Government had also decided to allow pension fund managers to invest globally. For this, a new legislation was being considered with a view to building the Indian pension system as the best, as it would also be the largest in the world.
