PM coming on Saturday

CHENNAI SEPT. 9. The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will visit Chennai on Saturday, September 13, to inaugurate the 125th anniversary celebrations of The Hindu.

Arriving here by a special aircraft around noon, Mr. Vajpayee will directly proceed to the Apollo Hospitals to call on the Union Minister, Murasoli Maran, who has been admitted there on his return from the United States, where he had been taken for treatment at Houston.

In the evening, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 125th anniversary celebrations of The Hindu at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium and later attend a reception at Hotel Taj Coromandel in connection with the celebrations.

Mr. Vajpayee is scheduled to meet BJP functionaries at the airport, before leaving in the night for New Delhi, according to a tentative programme released here today.
