The meet is to be held in Monaco on September 13 and 14, with Anju's event, the long jump, being scheduled on the second day. The ministry stated in a press release on Tuesday that an assistance to the tune of Rs. 12 lakhs was sanctioned to Anju in April this year for her training under World record-holder Mike Powell in the U.S. under the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) scheme.
