Rohan Bopanna, Harsh Mankad, Sunil Kumar, Sania Mirza, Megha Vakharia, Isha Lakhani and Ankita Bhambri will represent the country in the annual event of the Asian Tennis Federation. Originally, every country was requested to nominate a maximum of two players per event, but India has been able to field three additional players, to fill possible vacancies. Unlike last year when there was a mixed doubles event, the tournament will feature only men's and women's singles events this time. Incidentally, the men's and women's winners will get a wild card for the main draw of the Australian Open next year. Rohan Bopanna had finished runner-up in the Asian championship last year.
