A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice B.C. Patel and Justice A.K. Sikri passed the direction on a petition by the owners of the hall challenging a judgment by a single-judge bench of the High Court asking them to vacate the building by September 15. Rejecting a petition by Aggarwal and Modi Enterprises challenging the NDMC's decision not to renew their lease agreement, the single-judge Bench had last month asked them to vacate the hall by September 30. The NDMC wants to develop the building as a market complex to earn more revenue "as the earning from the leasing was only Rs. 1.26 lakhs per month".
