Pak. frees more fishermen

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD Sept. 9. Pakistan today released 42 more Indian fishermen from Landhi Prison in the port city of Karachi as part of the confidence-building measures announced by the Pakistan Prime Minister, Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, in response to the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee's peace initiative.

Last week they released 269 of the 343 fishermen languishing in different jails.

The release of 74 was delayed as their boats were being repaired.

The fishermen freed today are expected to sail home shortly after the Indian authorities make necessary arrangements.
