Letters to the Editor
Sir, I have been in the U.S. for five years but that has not stopped me from reading The Hindu. The first thing many of us do around 1 p.m., Pacific time, is go to www.thehindu.com and get a glance of the next day's news. It has helped me keep in touch with news back home. The joy of growing up in Madras with a morning cup of mom's coffee and The Hindu is indescribable. Sriram Sampath, Washington * * * Sir, We, the students of S.S.V. Sala, were introduced to The Hindu three years ago. We were trained to entertain ourselves with the fantasy of the "Young World" and the ecstasy of "Know Your English." We assure you that we will continue to be ardent readers. Students, S.S.V. Sala, Melur, T.N. * * * Sir, The Hindu is no longer a newspaper but a viewspaper. In the post-Godhra episode and during the Gujarat elections, the reports became so one-sided that in disgust I stopped buying the paper for a month. But sheer force of habit and the absence of an alternative forced me to come back to The Hindu. M. N. Sundararaman, Tiruchi, T.N.
