Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to Subramanian Swamy's "India without a clue at Cancun" ( Sept. 11 ). His fear that India will have to eat humble pie at the Cancun meet undermines India's leadership among the developing countries. Three important factors make the Indian position critical 65 per cent of labour in India is unorganised; our capital requirement is largely met by FDI, mostly from the EU and the U.S.; and the Indian share in the world market is negligible. Mohammed Younus Kaiser, Gulbarga, Karnataka * * * Sir, I wish the article had been published a week ago, when the Commerce Minister, Arun Jaitley, was preparing to leave for Cancun. Sathish K. Mahendran, Perth, Australia
