``We are proud to hail The Hindu as the only national newspaper having carried news items on the erstwhile composite Madras Province Government Employees strike, headed by Com.Jagadeesa Iyer during 1947,'' the TNGEA office-bearers said in a message. ``The struggles of workers, employees and teachers continue to receive impartial reporting, apart from thought-provoking assertive articles,'' the association said. The TNGEU said The Hindu had upheld the freedom of the Press, the freedom of speech and expression of all sections as well as individuals despite the challenges it had to face. ``The TNGEU firmly believes that this dedication will continue in the years to come in its continued journey,'' the union said in its message.
