In a brief chat with pressmen here today, Mr. Karunanidhi said it was a courtesy to receive and meet the Prime Minister, when he visited the Apollo Hospitals. Asked whether he would discuss politics with the Prime Minister, who was his long-time friend, Mr. Karunanidhi said it was not his practice to use friendship for political purpose. He also made it clear that he had no intention of discussing the Prevention of Terrorism Act with the Prime Minister. The DMK leader declined to comment when asked whether the move to reinduct Gingee S. Ramachandran in the Union Ministry was an attempt by the BJP to keep the existing National Democratic Alliance coalition intact and to have cordial relations with the partners. He knew about the reinduction only through newspapers.
