CHENNAI, SEPT. 12. The 125th year celebrations of The Hindu will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on Saturday at the University of Madras Centenary Auditorium. The Tamil Nadu Governor, P.S. Ramamohan Rao, will preside over the function and the Chairman of the Twelfth Finance Commission, C. Rangarajan, will deliver a special address. Ministers, political leaders, members of the judiciary, representatives of industry and business, members of the diplomatic corps, officials and employees of The Hindu will attend the function. Later in the evening, a 125th Anniversary Reception will be hosted for special invitees. Mr. Vajpayee will attend the reception before departing for New Delhi. The proceedings of the inaugural function will be telecast by Doordarshan on the Podhigai satellite channel and in the terrestrial mode between 6.45 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday.
