HYDERABAD: SEPT.12. A Division Bench of the High Court comprising G. Bhikshapati and Tamada Gopala Krishna set aside the orders of the State Government issued in 2000 which withdrew the benefits given to the Language Pundits Grade-II in 1983 declaring that the Language Pundits Grade-II will be given the payscales of Grade-I pundits if they posses the requisite qualifications. After these directions were issued, the scales were revised and many teachers got the benefits and the Tribunal gave directions in many cases. In 2000, GO 176 was issued withdrawing the benefits given to the grade-II language pundits. This GO was challenged by the teachers and the AP Administrative Tribunal upheld the decision of the Government. The present writ petitions were filed challenging the orders of the Tribunal.
