Tourism week fete from Sept. 20

NIZAMABAD SEPT. 13. The District Tourism Promotion Council, has chalked out elaborate programmes to commemorate the World Tourism Day in the district with week-long celebration beginning from September 20.

The District Collector, D.V. Raidu, who is the chairman of the council addressed a press conference to announce the programmes during the Tourism week celebrations. He said the World Tourism Organisation, celebrates World Tourism day on September 27. This year's theme is "Tourism - a driving force for poverty alleviation and employment generation''.

As per the schedule, the Tourism week celebrations would be launched on September 20 at the Bal Bhavan complex in the town. Painting competitions has been arranged for the high school and college level students. All paintings would be on display at the Bal Bhavan during the next one week. A photo exhibition of the tourist centres in the District would be put up at the same venue. For professional photographers and painters, a photo and painting competition on tourist spots in Nizamabad will be organised. The entries should be submitted in the office of the District Tourist Promotion officer, the DRDA office, Pragati Bhavan, before September 20.
