Denying resignation by the Nandyal MP, Bhooma Nagi Reddy, and MLAs, Raghuram Reddy (Mydukur), Sobha Nagi Reddy (Allagadda), and Parthasarathi Reddy (Panyam) at a news conference here on Saturday, the TDP general secretary, K. Kala Venkata Rao, said there was no basis for the media reports in this regard. They could not be contacted either as they were busy with the `Intintiki Telugu Desam' programme of the party in their respective constituencies, he added. Mr. Rao said the door-to-door campaign of the party picked up well in all but two Assembly segments in the State. It could not be taken up in Cuddapah due to a clash between TDP and Congress workers. Five MLAs, P. Venkata Rao (Payakaraopet), Appala Narasimha Raju (Bheemili), P.V. Krishna Rao (Kovur), Venkateswara Rao (Gudivada), and A. Prabhakar Reddy (Alur) and the party in-charge for Nizamabad district, Sharada Devi, took the permission of the party to abstain from the programme for various reasons and the same was communicated to the TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, when he made the enquiries from Mumbai and Bangalore on way to Italy. The attendance of the party cadre was found to be better than in Janmabhoomi. The programme was going on well with the party leaders listing out the achievements of the Government. Mr. Rao alleged that Congress workers had created terror in Cuddapah by attacking a TDP activist with bombs. The incident happened during the visit of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, to the area, he said. Incidentally, when Dr. Reddy was on a tour of Jammalamadugu two months ago, two TDP workers were fatally attacked allegedly by Congressmen.
