Mr. Sivadasan said that though service and hospitality are essential features of health service, unfortunately, both the aspects seem to be absent in the health service sector. In such a situation, the cataract-free scheme would stand out as a model, he said. The Minister wanted the scheme to be implemented with throughout the district. Addressing the gathering, the District Collector, Rajan Khobragade, said that 80 per cent of those who were operated under the scheme had been totally cured of cataract.
