Rocca's remarks draw Pak. ire

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD SEPT. 13. Pakistan has taken exception to the remarks made by the United States Assistant Secretary of State, Christina Rocca, in New Delhi on cross-border-infiltration and claimed that there was no terrorism emanating from its soil.

A Foreign Office spokesperson said that America should instead persuade India to end its "repression" in Kashmir and stop "dragging its feet" on resumption of dialogue with Islamabad.

"Pakistan is in the forefront of the war against terrorism," the spokesperson said and recalled that in a telephone conversation with the President, Pervez Musharraf, a few days ago, his U.S. counterpart, George W. Bush, had commended Pakistan's role in this regard.
