By Our Staff Reporter
Subsequently, Kamal was arrested with four cartons of medicines containing 320 packs. During interrogation, he disclosed that he got the supply from one O.K. Gupta of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. At his instance, a police team went to Meerut and arrested P.K. Gupta. He claimed that he had been receiving supplies from one of his accomplices who was manufacturing the drugs in his factory somewhere in the Delhi-U.P. border. A search of his house led to the recovery of 336 packs of suspected spurious anti-pyretic drug, each containing 10 strips of 10 tablets, and 134 empty boxes of the same drug. The police have sent samples of the seized drugs for a laboratory test to find out whether they are spurious. The Drugs Control Department has been informed and efforts are on to unearth the factory and nab other accomplices of the accused.
