SBT revises interest rates

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM. SEPT.13. The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has revised the interest rates for term deposits up to sum of Rs. 1 crore with effect from September 15. The revised rates for domestic deposits are: 4.25 per cent for a period of 15 to 45 days, 5 per cent for 46 to 179 days, 5.25 per cent effective and 5.28 per cent annualised for one year to less than two years, 6 per cent effective and 6.32 per cent annualised for two years to less than three years and 6 per cent effective and 6.52 per cent annualised for three years and above. The new rates will be applicable for new deposits as well as renewals on maturity. An additional interest of 0.5 per cent will be paid to resident senior citizens for deposits of Rs. 5,000 and above for periods of one year and above, according to an SBT press release.
