Governor to inaugurate seminar on HK region

GULBARGA Sept. 14. The Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, will inaugurate a seminar on "Opportunities and development of the Hyderabad Karnataka region" to commemorate the 55th Liberation Day of Hyderabad State from the Nizam rule and its accession to the Indian Union.

The seminar is being organised by Kannada Prabha at the Sangameshwar Kalyan Mantap in collaboration with the Swami Ramanandatheertha Research Institute, Nutan Vidyalaya Education Society, Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Shivam Petroleum to highlight the backwardness of the region and the opportunities available to develop it.

The Governor of Bihar, Rama Jois, will preside over the function. The Home Minister, M. Mallikarjun Kharge, and the Public Works Minister, N. Dharam Singh, will be the chief guests. Iqbal Ahmed Saradgi, MP, and Ministers and elected representatives of the region will take part in panel discussions on various subjects.

A spokesperson of the organisers said here on Sunday that the seminar would give an opportunity to entrepreneurs and students of the region to know more about the opportunities available for the development of the region. Among the senior officials taking part in the panel discussions and interacting with participants were the Commissioner of the North Karnataka Development Commissionerate, Chiranjeevi Singh, the Chairman of the Hyderabad Karnataka Development Board, N.S. Boseraju, the former Minister, Vaijnath Patil, the President of the Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane, K. Neela, the Inspector General of Police, Kempaiah, the Director of the Swami Ramanandatheertha Research Institute, Vasant Kustagi, and Chaya Diggaonkar.

Mr. Boseraju and Mr. Chiranjeevi Singh would head the panel discussions on "Development and opportunities in Hyderabad Karnataka region". Mr. Vaijnath Patil would head the panel discussion on "Political development and Hyderabad Karnataka region'', Prof. Kustagi would head the panel discussion on "Hyderabad Karnataka-Education Vision'', Dr. Diggoankar would speak on "Futuristic economic and geographical development of Hyderabad Karnataka region'', Ms. Neela would head a panel discussion on "Status of women in Hyderabad Karnataka region'', Mr. Kempaiah would speak on "Maintenance of Law and Order in Hyderabad Karnataka region'', and a retired lecturer, B.R. Konda, would speak on "Opportunities in infrastructure development in Hyderabad Karnataka region''.

The Medical Education Minister, A.B. Maalakaraddy, the Labour Minister, Qamar-ul-Islam, the Minister of State for Revenue, Mallikarjun Nagappa, the Minister of State for Lottery and Small Savings, Baburao Chinchansur, the Minister of State for Library, Baburao Chavan, the Minister of State for Power, Basavaraj Patil Humnabad, the Gulbarga Mayor, Iqbal Ahmed, the Bidar MP, Ramachandra Veerappa, would also participate in the panel discussions, he added.
