TRS takes exception to remarks of ex-MP

HYDERABAD: Sept.14. Condemning the remarks made by the former MP, Yelamanchali Sivaji, on the chief engineers from Telangana, which were reported in a section of press today, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Sunday demanded that the former MP tender an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana.

Addressing a press conference here, the TRS president, K Chandrasekhar Rao, criticised the former MP for stating that all the chief engineers of Nagarjunasagar project hailing from Telangana were misguiding the Government on the water release issue. "By making such comments which are hurting the feelings of the people of Telangana, the MP only demonstrated his regional feelings,'' the TRS chief said.

The TRS president also took strong exception to Mr Sivaji's remarks that the Krishna delta was denied its share of 80 tmcft of water from Nagarjunasagar. "There is no assured allocation to Krishna delta under Nagarjunasagar project. Let the former MP show the relevant documents to prove his claims and the TRS is prepared for any challenge on the issue,'' he said.
