Nag-Sarkar pair wins

KOLKATA SEPT. 14. The pair of A.K. Nag & S.C. Sarkar of CLW - Chittaranjan won the pairs event in the A.I. Railway bridge championship with a tally of 180 points. Tapas Auddy and A.K. Das of Eastern Railway, Kolkata stood second with 177 points.

The South-Eastern Railway pair of Pronab Roy and Hasibul Hassan of Kolkata finished third with a tally of 173 points.

While Nag and Sarkar maintained the top place till the last the second pair of Auddy & Das and the third pair of Roy and Hassan came up pushing aside the other pairs who were below them at the end of the seventh round.

The final position: A.K. Nag and S.C. Sarkar - 180; Tapas Auddy and A.K.L. Das - 177; P. Roy and H. Hasan - 173; Sumit Mukherjee and D. Majumder - 172; S. Chowdhury and S.K. Datta - 172; Sujit Bhattacharya and Gopinath Manna - 164; P. Roy and N.K. Sarkar - 164; M. Munghi and V.B. Lal - 162; C.M. Singh and R. Bhargava - 160; P. Agarwal and S. Roy - 156; S.K. Chakrabarty and S. Banerjee - 153; B.B. Parui and T.K. Sarkar - 147.
