Sir, I refer to I am not a traitor: Musharraf" (Sept. 12). Pervez Musharraf decries the misuse of `madrassas' for promoting sectarian militancy and urges them to include subjects other than religion. But in India, whenever the Government initiates measures to streamline the functioning of the `madrassas' to enable them to adapt to modern education, the `secularists' and Islamic organisations cry hoarse and stifle the moves.
