HSBC named global bank of the year

CHENNAI: HSBC has been recognised as Global Bank of the year for the second year in `The Bank Awards 2003'. This was one of the seven awards presented to HSBC in London on Sunday. In addition to the `Global Bank' accolade, HSBC was named Bank of the Year for the Asia-Pacific region, and best bank in Armenia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Malta and the Philippines, according to a release.
