Deliberating on the business plans for the year, R. Zutsi, Director, told media persons that Samsung aimed to enhance its market share in the washing machines segment to 25 per cent from 10.7 per cent in 2002. Visiting the city in connection with the festive offers launched here in connection with the Durga Puja, Mr. Zutsi said the company would be spending Rs. 25 crores for promotional activities. Incidentally, Samsung enjoys the highest consumer preference in Eastern India and West Bengal in particular. "Though northern India contributes the most in terms of turnover, the growth in sales is the highest in Bengal," Mr. Zutsi said.
