CM's Thanjavur visit postponed

Thanjavur, Sept. 15. The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa's visit to Thanjavur, scheduled for September 19, has been postponed, according to official sources here.

She may visit here ``a few days later'', the sources said. It is now said Sivaganga visit may precede the Thanjavur trip.

Even as preparations were going on in this town — putting up a huge pandal at the Annai Sathya stadium, venue of a meeting, and mobilisation of police force from various places — officials reportedly received information on the postponement.

The Environment Minister and Thanjavur district AIADMK secretary, R. Vaithilingam, who had been overseeing the preparations here, also left for Chennai last night.
